General Tao Tofu”. General Tao” seasoning is a classic in Chinese restaurants in the USA and Canada.

The basic Szechuan-inspired recipe, which no one knows if it’s really Chinese or New York, is a caramelized ginger sauce in which chicken or tofu… and stir-fried vegetables are usually prepared, accompanied by cauliflower rice.

It’s like certain Indian dishes born in England that everyone thinks originated on the subcontinent, but whose true origins are unknown.

This dish is very complex to prepare but, like all wok recipes, it is essential to measure out the ingredients before you start so that you have them on hand:

we add to the wok, as we go along, what we need in a precise order, so that cooking is gradual and harmonious.
