General Tao’s Tofu

12.50

General Tao Tofu”. General Tao” seasoning is a classic in Chinese restaurants in the USA and Canada.

The basic Szechuan-inspired recipe, which no one knows if it’s really Chinese or New York, is a caramelized ginger sauce in which chicken or tofu… and stir-fried vegetables are usually prepared, accompanied by cauliflower rice.

It’s like certain Indian dishes born in England that everyone thinks originated on the subcontinent, but whose true origins are unknown.

This dish is very complex to prepare but, like all wok recipes, it is essential to measure out the ingredients before you start so that you have them on hand:

we add to the wok, as we go along, what we need in a precise order, so that cooking is gradual and harmonious.

If you do, this dish looks simple enough to prepare, but it makes a big impact!

The soft, golden tofu in the slightly sweet, well-flavored and slightly spicy soy sauce, on a bed of vegetables and sweet potatoes, stir-fried in a wok, is a real treat.

This is one of the recipes with which I’ve already won over several tofu skeptics!
